Parent Involvement

Parent Involvement

A production of this scope depends on the time and talents of many.  In order to insure the success of the musical, each family is expected to sign up for at least 2 volunteer positions (one pre-production and one production/post-production committee) at the mandatory parent meeting on:

Thursday, February 28th, 7:00-8:00pm in the Cafeteria

These committees are listed below (a more detailed description of the committees will be available at the parent meeting). We will discuss volunteer options at the parent meeting and a sign up genius will be created.

Families who do not volunteer will be assigned to committees that are not yet filled.  If you are willing to chair any of the committees or if you have questions about them, please contact Dawn Vitale at [email protected]

Additional ways to support your child and our program...

Program Advertising 

In order to produce the program for the musical, we rely on personal or business ads to help defray the program printing costs.  The more ads we have, the less money we will have to take away from our production costs to cover the printing of the program.

We are asking that you please consider helping to support the musical by placing an ad in the program!  It can be a personal ad for your child or a business ad.  This is a very easy way to have a positive impact on our production, especially if you have not been able to volunteer in other ways.  

Full Page ads are $100, Half Page ads are $50, and Quarter Page (Business Card size) ads are only $25.    A great value!

Below is the link to the Peter Pan Jr. Advertising Form.  This form can be emailed to friends and family who might own businesses or can be taken into small businesses throughout town.  This is a great way to reach out to the Derby community regarding your business services and/or products. 

If you have any questions about the form or the advertising, please email [email protected].  The deadline to receive the form back and the digital image of their logo/artwork is April 8th.

Program Shout Outs

This is a convenient, economical way for you to support your cast or crew member.  Shout Outs are 2 to 3 sentences in the program which proclaim your support for a specific individual.  Each Shout Out will be $15.00 and the checks can be made out to Derby Middle School.

If you would like to place a Shout Out in the Program, email your specific information to [email protected] 

Please use the following format:


Subject Line:  Shout Out

Family Name:  

Student Name:

Message:  3 Sentences Maximum


Example:  Good luck (child’s name)!  Break a leg!  We love you, Mom and Dad


Please include how you will be paying for your Shout Out.  We accept cash and checks.  The envelopes can be left in the Derby Office but please mark them as Shout Outs and the Student's name on the envelope.

The deadline for submitting Shout Outs is April 8th.
